Not to gripe or anything but the documentation that follows the product is not up to scratch half  of it is tsill based on old Net6 vpn gateway and the other on the 4.9. That is the version which is actually shipping with the product, and then after installing according to the old documentation, you find the recommendation to uppgrade to 4.0; follow the logic, and hej presto there a magic changes in the configuration. Looking through the admin guide it would seem to be lagging behind somewhat.

Afetr the first look at the gateway we are trying to envisage scenarios where the product could replace our old secure gateways, but whithout rsa and passthru we have been little confused. Our probelms are the same for all companies with the need for security ever present, users would like to move work and move documents while outside the corprate net, bur security prohibits that, end point anlaysis could give oss the tools to control how much freedom they recieve depending on the client configuration, but as it seems with multiple logins.

I would be intersted to hear from how others are going to use the product or envisage product usage.

Regards Craig

HI Craig, from what you have said, I think you are caught in the middle of Citrix trying to standardise their access around the Gateway appliance.

If you were running Access Gateway Enterprise today, it is an all software solution, that would give you the end point analysis, which in turn would give the ability to allow users to come with 2 factor authentication or not based on end point scans. Then you can change their access scenario according to the level of authentication they have provided. Ideal if you forget your token. And its all through one login point as far as the user is concerned.

In terms fo the appliance there are some limitations with it and its only once we get the software gateway in Access Gateway Enterprise integrated onto the box in later releases that we can see how it begins to shake down.

But obviously the two-factor pass through is a big issue for you and a lot of other people out there. We jsut have to wait and see if Citrix does anything about it.
