I have been trying to find some information on how to configure a hardware load balancer (F5 3DNS) to load balance requests from two CAG's to two AAC servers hosting the Logon service. (Before anyone mentions it, it is for high availability primarily as aac takes a little while to fail over)

I have read a recommendation from Roddy Rodstein's Smart Access in a box (http://rnetworkx.com) which suggests using:-

• Layer 7 LB: Cookie Hashing
• Cookie Name: LogonSessionID

On the F5 I am working on, I have another setting to set which is "hash values" the parameters are numeric called "offset" and "length".

If anyone can share their experiences or point me to an existing document that explains all then that would be great
