ICA from web page.

I have a problem that i have been going round in circles with, but i know it can be done, obviously somebody elses ecperiences may help.

 Essentially i cant launch the ICA desktop profile from the web page but can launch it internally. I have added the ALTADDR to the metaframe environment and changed the ica file to use alternate address in order to access the resources on the LAN. But still i am getting -

'There are no citrix metaframe servers configured at this address'

How did anybody else get round this issue ?
